Next Evolution in Internet Technologies
with guest speaker Carnet Williams
Join PRSA Hawaii and Carnet Williams the Executive Director of Hawaii Business and Entrepreneur Acceleration Mentors (HiBEAM) a non-profit which specializes in assisting in the growth and acceleration of technology startups. Carnet will be discussing the impact of the next evolution in Internet technologies or "Web 2.0" and its impact on the communication industry.
Raised in Asia, Australia and the United States, Carnet was schooled first as a Scientist (Bachelors of Science, UC Berkley) then as a Lawyer (Doctor of Jurisprudence, University of Oregon). His accomplishments earned him the appointment to Director of Academic Technology, Research & Development for Stanford University.
Carnet currently works with The Nature Conservancy (TNC), an International Environmental Conservation NGO. As Director of a global project addressing Invasive Species and World Trade policies he is leading TNC's regional and global positions regarding international policy frameworks such as the Convention on Biological Diversity, World Trade Organization, World Conservation Congress, North American Free Trade Agreement, and other U.N. related bodies.
Carnet has founded many successful high tech businesses, non-profits and is a founding board member of the Nonprofit Technology Enterprise Network (NTEN), an organizational think tank for nonprofit technology dissemination and support, based in Washington D.C.
