As an account supervisor at McNeil Wilson, Rebecca specializes in travel marketing, media relations, events, and promotions. She is currently responsible for developing and executing the public relations activities for the Hawaii Visitors and Convention Bureau (HVCB), the state’s marketing agency for North America, and Travaasa Hana (formerly Hotel Hana-Maui), the legendary resort located at the end of Maui’s famed Hana Highway.
She has a deep understanding of the Hawaii tourism industry and has placed clients in national media outlets such as The New York Times, Los Angeles Times, Shape Magazine, Sunset Magazine, Today Show, Food Network, Travel Channel, Daily Candy, and many others. Prior to joining McNeil Wilson, Rebecca worked at Stryker Weiner & Yokota, managing the PR initiatives for Oahu Visitors Bureau, Ala Moana Center and Starwood Hotels & Resorts Hawaii. Before that, she worked in media relations at LA INC. The Convention and Visitors Bureau and as an editorial assistant at Los Angeles Times.
She currently serves as the director of member services for PRSA Hawaii and has been actively involved on the board for the past five years. She is the recipient of PRSA Hawaii’s 2007 Young PR Professional of the Year award and has been awarded numerous PRSA Koa Anvil and Hammer awards for outstanding work done on behalf of her clients.
Rebecca is a graduate of University of Southern California, earning a bachelor’s degree in communication. She also serves on the board of the Susan G. Komen for the Cure – Hawaii Affiliate. In her spare time, she enjoys travel, relaxation and good eats.
